Taylor Atkinson

Hello, my name is Taylor Atkinson. As a boxer I have won the NYS Golden Gloves two times, and have competed in the ring for nearly 15 years. After training with Dean for over 4 years, I left boxing to join the United States Army.

I was unexpectedly pulled out of my Iraq tour to return to the ring and compete in the World Class Athletes Program (WCAP). This gave me the opportunity to train under the two time Olympic Coach Basheer Abdullah. After one year of training, traveling and competing with WCAP, I left the unit to volunteer for Afghanistan.

When my tour was completed overseas, I was Honorably Discharged and came home to box professionally with Dean Eoannou. Due to injuries, my plans changed and I decided to leave the ring and go to college.

From there, I began working at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf. After visiting Parkinson's Boxing LLC and seeing first hand, all of the incredible accomplishments and progress they have had with the people that come, I became a believer immediately. I knew what I needed to do with my life and that was to become a trainer at Parkinson's Boxing LLC.

My commitment and passion grew beyond a trainer when my father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. My father now comes twice a week to combat the disease and take his life back.
