Laura joined the Parkinsons Boxing family in June 2024 and is grateful for the opportunity to meet and work with amazing clients and colleagues.


As a former pentathlon and heptathlon NY State champion, Laura attended Purdue University and received a BS in Biology. She began as an assistant Track and field coach at SUNY at Buffalo, earning a Master's in Education. She brings thirty years of teaching and coaching experience to Parkinson’s Boxing, followed by a rewarding career as a biology teacher and coach at a local high school.


While not at work, Laura enjoys exercising, gardening, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband and adult children.

I was around 58 when my thumb started giving me problems. As time passed, I had other symptoms: hand tremors, restless sleep, muscle weakness, cognitive decline, voice spasms, and a stiff, achy right arm and ankle. At 60 I was diagnosed with PARKINSON’S DISEASE. I was on Carbidopa and Pramipexole for two years; they helped a lot but not for long. As the disease progressed, my symptoms worsened.
